Mark Glover joined The Lemmings as the new drummer in 1983.
He had been co-founder member of the art concept band: Margarine for Dudes / Santa / Surf boys / Stylaphones. Also he played percussion for Learning to Speak (Hammersley brothers).
Glover met Blake on the music social scene based around The Vine Pub, Hanley, Stoke on Trent.
The new line up then became:
John Blake - vocals/guitar
Phil Blake - guitar/vocals
Chris Brinley - bass guitar/vocals
Mark Glover - kit drums
The new drummer for The Lemmings has turned them from a pop band into a rock band: Torch magazine.
During this time, they recorded a demo tape and had a photo session which they sent to Radio One DJ John Peel, and record producer Nick Smart.

Sometimes The Lemmings would appear as their alter ego The Forty-Eight Honeys.
On their hundredth gig at The George Hotel in Burslem, they came on stage as The Psycho Vicars
( vicars in crash helmets). Special guest appearance by guitarist Stuart Duffy.
The Lemmings wish to thank all those who came to the gigs and supported them.
Cads and characters, even you, the Fountain collects the chosen few.

A posthumous tribute to Philip Blake
He was a very talented musician, singer, songwriter, and I was very glad to have worked with him.
This Leeming who went over the cliff, too soon.
